The uses of Navicular drop test

    February 2nd, 2010 by admin

In other health professionals especially the podiatrists, used the navicular drop test in the management of the foot to find out how much the navicular bone (a bone in the midfoot) moves up and down when standing. The amount of this navicular drop test is assumed to correlates with how much the bone moves during gait. Before prescribing any foot orthotics this measurement or navicular drop test is used. Navicular drop test is often combined with the navicular drift test. And it is assumed that the drift should equal the drop and that there should not be too much of either. To limit the motion of both navicualr drop and drift is the aim of this foot orthotics.
