    Apremilast

    The very new medicine of which a clinical trial with regard to its use in gout has just been announced is just what we call Apremilast for gout. That has been used regarding psoriasis and its associated arthritis, yet the application to gout is new. An inflammatory reaction to uric acid crystals being deposited straight into the joints is gout. Lately a registered clinical trial is going in order to test to see if the use of Apremilast is better as compared to the use of indomethacin, which has been used to treat an acute attack involving gout for over 50 years already. The drug does hold promise of being more effective. The results will not be available for a year or so.
