Expunged or Sealed?

My son did something incredibly stupid while he was in college and it is destroying his life. He cannot get a good job as everyone now requests a criminal background check. We are trying to decide if we need to have his record sealed or if it would be better to have it expunged. He has an appointment with a lawyer tomorrow to determine which is best. I think it is better to expuge record florida, but I’m not sure so I would rather pay a lawyer and know than to do something wrong and find out we can’t fix it later. Everyone is entitled to a youthful mistake and I believe my son has paid for his.
