The genre of hard rock music has taken many forms over the years basing its roots from the traditional blues riffs played through the 20th century. The new hard rock music is moving farther and farther away from its original mold, yet still holds a nice sound for it’s audience. New hard rock is more about the sound than anything else. The dropped bass and guitar tunings bring a deeper and more sustained quality to the song melodies. Another feature of the new hard rock music is the heavy use of compression on everything from the vocals, drums, guitars, and bass all the way through to the final mix and master track.
